SAN MATEO— UPDATE: Amy Huang, a Bay Area native and San Francisco State University alumna mysteriously disappeared in the early morning hours of April 1st, 2025. Her body was found on the shore of Eden Landing Ecological Reserve on April 30, 2025. The 24-year-old was seen on camera leaving her San Mateo home in a set of gray patterned pajamas at 1:20 AM. She initially started driving toward San Lorenzo, then turned back toward San Mateo.

Huang pulled over along the lower side of the San Mateo bridge and her car was parked mid-span with its hazard lights on at approximately 2:09. CHP claimed to have placed a tow notice and the car was towed 30 minutes later, around 3 AM.

Between pieces of surveillance and dash-cam footage, many questions are still unanswered. One angle of CHP footage from the bridge was provided to the family, and shows no sign of Amy leaving the car. Additionally, no footage of the car getting towed was provided.

Vanished SF visited the San Mateo Bridge to scan shorelines and make notes of the environment. A fall from the point of the bridge where Amy's car was parked would not result in fatality, but possibly drowning.
