Police ask for public’s help locating autistic 21-year-old student

The San Leandro Police Department is asking for the public’s help to locate 21-year-old Laney college student Jackie Wong who was last seen shortly after midnight on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the 1400 block of Pierce Avenue in San Leandro.

Wong is described as 5′4″, about 120 lbs, and uses a walking aid. Police note that he has autism and consider him at risk. He was last seen wearing a yellow The North Face sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and white shoes.

It’s important to note that individuals on the autism spectrum are at heightened risk when on their own. Studies show that nearly 49 % of people with autism attempt to wander or “bolt” from a safe environment at least once after age 4. and of those, 53 % go missing long enough to cause serious concern.

The San Leandro Police Department is asking anyone who sees Wong or has information about his whereabouts to call the non-emergency line at (510) 577-2740.
